Swim & Trip Camp
ABOUT CAMP
This property has been held by the Reiners family since 1944. It's the former home of a private boys' summer camp founded by our grandparents, Joe and Carol Reiners. After a long search for the perfect site, and many "cold" calls to prominent Rochester families, they opened Adirondack Swim Camp in 1944 with 20 campers and 14 staff from colleges across the northeast.
Our parents, Alice Ann and Joe Reiners Jr., purchased the camp in 1962. To reflect Joe's interest in the outdoors, the camp program was modified to emphasize mountain climbing and canoe tripping, and Swim Camp became Adirondack Swim and Trip Camp.
ASTC's last season as a boys' camp was the summer of 1984, after which Joe and Alice Ann began renting some of the cabins to friends and former camp associates. While many of our guests still have personal connections to ASTC as former campers and staff, we've welcomed many new friends and families over the years. Summer 2022 marks our 38th season.
